THE EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy Your Stay at Everglades National Park
No matter what kind of vacation you are looking for, you'll be able to enjoy your time at the Everglades National Park. The Everglades is a famous region located along the southern tip of Florida. Known for being filled with wildlife, the Everglades is as important to the ecosystem as it is to the tourism industry in Florida.
There are many different campgrounds that you can settle into during your next trip to the Everglades. The Everglades National Park borders the Big Cypress National Preserve on either side, which is where we are located. No matter where you end up, you'll enjoy what you see when you get there! Having said that, if you are more interested in a more centralized location, you might want to consider the Trail Lakes Campground. Located in Ochopee, Florida, Trail Lakes is revered due to the history of the owners, the Shealy family. The Shealy's are four generations deep as authentic Gladesmen who live off of the Everglades.
While being 10 minutes form Everglades City, the Gulf Coast visitors center is a short drive away. Within Everglades City you can find an extensive amount of airboat tours, history-rich museums, and tons of delicious local seafood. For guests who don't mind the drive, Naples and Marco island is a short 45 minute drive away as well. Here you can find shopping, dining and some of the best beaches in southwest Florid that are accessible by car. Everglades City, Marco Island and Naples is also home to an extensive list of companies and captains offering 10,000 Islands tours.
Heading East, Flamingo FL is roughly 2.5 hrs away from our location here. While hotel accommodations are scarce in Flamingo you can find hiking trails, boat tours and padding options.
